Does RISE NEED Volunteers?

Yes, the RISE program is always looking for volunteers that meet the following criteria:

  • Are over 18 years of age
  • Are willing to commit to volunteering at a site for 2 hours once a week for a period of at least 6 months’ time.
  • Like working with young children, ages 3-7 yrs.
  • Have submitted and passed a Colorado Background Check

How do you go about signing up to volunteer with the RISE program?

Please go onto our website, and follow the links to the volunteer application. Once you have submitted the application, you will be called to come into our center for an interview.

How many sites does the RISE program operate?

The RISE program currently in operating at 8 sites located throughout the Denver metro area.

How often does the RISE program run?

The RISE program runs on a once-a-week, year-round schedule.  Each session lasts for 90 minutes.  Some of the sites run during the day, others in the evening.  The month of August is usually the time when RISE generally takes a break from offering services.  We ask volunteers to commit to being at a site for a period of six months’ time.

Does RISE have an internship program? 

The RISE program currently has interns from the University of Colorado, and is in the process of acquiring interns from Metro State.  These internships are supervised by our RISE staff and students are doing this work for credit at their college. Please contact the RISE staff at CHSL at 303-322-1871 if you are interested in interviewing for a college internship, OR if you have already graduated from college, and are interested in acquiring work experience.
