Jill WayneJill C. Wayne, M.A., CCC-A, AuD
Executive Director/Audiologist

Jill Wayne is an ASHA certified audiologist and has worked at CHSL since 1979, holding her current title of Executive Director since 1993.

Jill has a Master's degree in Audiology at California State University, Northridge and an AuD (clinical audiology doctorate) from Central Michigan University. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, a member of ASHA, and a member of the Colorado Academy of Audiology. She is a member and past president of the National Association of Speech and Hearing Centers and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Dawson Wallace Dance Project.

Jill is married to husband Tim, has twin stepdaughters and “hooligan” kitties—Mama Kat and Oogie.

Linda ClaytonLinda Clayton
Finance Director

Linda Clayton is a long-time, dedicated employee of CHSL, having first joined the staff in 1993. She has thirty years of accounting experience, specializing in the medical field. Linda administers and maintains the financial, personnel and benefits records for all 19 members of the CHSL staff.

Lee Ann LizzulLee Ann Lizzul, M.A., CCC-A
Colorado Springs Director; Clinical Audiologist

Lee Ann Lizzul is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Colorado State University with a Masters of Science degree in Audiology. She earned the Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 1985 after successfully completing the Master's program, a 9-month internship and passing the national certification examination. Lee Ann is a licensed audiologist in the state of Colorado, certified by ASHA, and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She has been the full-time audiologist in the Colorado Springs office since 1985 and is a member of Rocky Mountain Sertoma Club in Colorado Springs.

Betty SweetmanBetty Sweetman, M.A., CCC-A
Director of Audiology

Betty Sweetman received her master's degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and a member of the Colorado Academy of Audiology. Prior to joining the CHSL staff in 2003, Betty spent four years as clinical audiologist for Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital. There she administered diagnostic audiology, fit and repaired hearing aids, and directed the infant hearing screening program at the largest birthing hospital in Colorado, which screened some 4,500 babies per year. Betty was VP of Education for the Colorado Academy of Audiology for the past two years. This responsibility saw her chairing the State Audiology Convention for two years as well as a spring meeting.

Nathan HallNathan Hall
Industry Director, Sound Solutions

Nathan Hall has been a resident of the Denver area for over 15 years and with CHSL since 1991. He spent time in the US Air Force out of high school, with his education taking place at the now defunct Lowry AFB. Nathan directs the Industrial program, which provides mobile testing services to Colorado businesses so that OSHA sound-level standards in the workplace are met. The net revenues from the industrial program help offset CHSL administrative costs and provide much-needed funds for charitable programs.

Maeline BarnstableMaeline Barnstable, M.A., CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist; KidScreen Program Coordinator

Maeline Barnstable graduated on the Dean's list from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Speech and Hearing Science and she holds a Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Houston. She is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association in speech pathology. She has worked with individuals with speech, language and swallowing disorders, adults with neurological impairments (i.e. strokes, dementia), as well as with preschool-aged children with developmental delays. Maeline has also been a presenter for inservice training for healthcare staff and the general public.

Janet NissenJanet Nissen, M.A., CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist; KidScreen Team Professional

Janet Nissen graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelors and masters degree in speech pathology in 1974 and 1975 respectively. Janet joined the CHSL staff in 2007 and is trained in the multi-sensory approach to reading, as well as the Wilson Reading Program. She has experience working with children diagnosed with learning disabilities, speech/language disabilities, developmental disabilities, emotional disorders and Asperger's Syndrome. In addition, she has extensive assessment experienced gained as an active member of an interdisciplinary assessment team.

Karen Harolds
Marketing Manager

Karen Harolds has spent most of career working for nonprofits. She has extensive experience in integrated marketing communications including PR, graphic design and web development. Karen earned her M.S. in Marketing from the University of Colorado Denver, her B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Colorado State University and her Webmaster certification from the National Association of Communication Systems Engineers.
